well known as a wilderness adventure getaway for hikers

Watchers. The Metchosin area enjoys
marshlands ideal for Wildlife Watching. There are many trails like
the Galloping
Goose and Albert Head Regional Park. There are numerous
parks in Metchosin like East
Sooke Park and Devonian Regional Park
to explore. Every where in Metchosin BC seems to be surrounded by
second growth forests.
The West Shore community of Colwood BC is
located 10 kilometres away from Victoria, BC. That's about 6 miles.
The Colwood area is a residential area with a growing commercial
core and some impressive heritage buildings like the St. John Baptist
Church building.
The Western Community of View Royal
is more of an urban friendly style neighbourhood with a residential
feel. The community is an ideal destination for
cycling
and is close to Victoria and all the amenities. The View
Royal area has some parks and some areas with waterfront
access to some amazing ocean views.
Throughout the West Shore area is many nature parks
like Portage Park in View Royal; Triangle Mountain and Hatley Park
in Colwood; Goldstream
Park, Thetis Lake Park and Mill Hill Regional Park
