Marina and Boats Inner Harbour Lower Tier Waterfront Walkway Orca Sculpture, Inner Harboour

The downtown retail activity and attractions of Victoria, BC, Canada is focused, mainly, around the Inner Harbour. The Inner Harbour is the scenic highlight and focal point of the downtown region. A beautiful little cove located in the centre of Victoria surrounded by old buildings and boats.

The shoreline is fronted by many buildings of old English architecture including the BC Government Parliament Buildings and a very popular paved two-tier walkway. The Victoria walkway and scenic ocean views attracts everyone when they visit the community. The locals visit the Inner Harbour on their lunch hour and days off, while visitors arrive everyday with eyes wide open.

On any given day, especially in the summer months, the walkway will be busy with people sightseeing, shopping, walking, sitting, enjoying a coffee, listening to a musician, taking pictures or browsing the local art on site. The area is also the pick up point for the horse-drawn carriage rides and bike taxis.

The Inner Harbour is the focus of downtown Victoria, therefore many other attractions are within walking distance of the waterfront views and, even, sometimes sharing the same view as is the case with the BC Parliament Buildings. Next door to the Parliament Buildings is Beacon Hill Park and the BC Museum and in the other direction is the Government Street shops and "Artist" Alley".
