Victoria, BC Dallas Road area is an ideal spot in the summer for a walk, marine sightseeing, picnics and in the winter the area is a popular gathering spot for storm watching. The mostly paved waterfront walk way follows the coastline all the way to the back door of Beacon Hill Park and continues far beyond leading to sandy beaches.

The paved walkway is highly used by locals for walking, jogging, cyclists and roller blading. Because the pathway extends for miles there is amble opportunity along the route for a picnic, occupy a viewing bench and/or pick a patch of grass to spread out on.

The surrounding area attracts many extreme sports enthusiasts like kite surfers, kayakers, scuba divers and it also attracts hobbyist like kite flyers because of the sometimes strong winds.

In the winter seasons the winds kick up a fuss during storms and the waves crash over the barrier onto the streets. Dallas Road has some waterfront parking, so on stormy days, one can stay in the car and still enjoy the sights and sounds. Cars covered in ocean mist will be parked on the street watching the storms for hours and hours.
